Arriving on Time
To ensure a smooth start to your lesson, please plan to arrive no more than 5 minutes early and kindly send a text before knocking. As there is no waiting area in the studio and I may be finishing with another student, I will personally meet you at the door at your scheduled start time.
If you arrive late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time, and missed time cannot be made up.
My studio is located in the historic Edmonton community of Beverly Heights, where there is ample free street parking available nearby.

Lesson Focus and Repertoire
Lessons will include the study of assigned repertoire, music theory (note and rhythm reading) and some basic piano. This is to ensure you not only learn how to sing, but have a general understanding of reading music, and the ability to teach notes to yourself in the future.
I will work with you to assign repertoire based on your current level and learning objectives. Music will typically be classical, folk, pop or musical theatre repertoire, depending on student interest and goals.

Missed Lesson Policy
If you are feeling unwell please notify me and we will do your lesson online instead. While singing may not be practical depending on the illness, there are many things musically that can be addressed to make best use of your lesson time.
Lessons cancelled by students with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited and no make-up lesson will be offered.
Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours notice, will be made up, to a maximum of 1 lesson per month. Additional cancelled lessons (more than 1 lesson per month), regardless of notice given, will not be made up and no refund will be offered.

Lesson Expectations
Please arrive prepared to learn at your lesson. This includes bringing a notebook, pencil, copies of all assigned material, and a positive attitude!

Practice Guidelines
Improvement happens best and most quickly with regular practice. I recommend the following:
Young children and beginner students: 15-30 minutes 5x week.
Teenagers and intermediate students: 20-50 minutes 5-6x week.
Advanced students: 50-75 minutes 6-7x week.

Concerns and Cancellation of Lessons
I will always do my best to ensure you are satisfied with your lessons. If for any reason the lessons are not meeting your expectations, please let me know! I am always grateful for feedback and will do my best to ensure your concerns are addressed.
To cancel regular weekly lessons, please provide written notice by the 15th of the month by email. Lessons for the remainder of the month will continue as regularly scheduled.
